I have been working as an artist all my life. I raised a family, moved to 9 states, and have lived in 33 houses. I currently reside in Dickinson, North Dakota.
My artwork has been featured in many places and can be found in many collections, and has won numerous awards. I also donate fine artwork to many local fundraisers, including Oreo’s Animal Rescue, which is very near and dear to my heart.
Mediums I enjoy working with are oil, acrylic, watercolor, pottery, and jewelry designing (check out more of my jewelry designs at http://thebuttonladynd.com/). Many of my pieces have been made into a series of prints. I packaged
note cards from the paintings used on the covers of four South Dakota magazines. They honored me by including one of the oil paintings in their 2011 calendar.
I spent some time in Hawaii, and during my time there, I worked with a renowned illustrator and gallery owner for many years. I learned the ins and outs of running a gallery, illustrating products, and painting with watercolors, oils, and acrylics. I also learned collage techniques from another well-known artist, teacher, and author. My art was displayed in many shows while living in Hawaii.
I grew up in the wonderful state of North Dakota, and also lived for many years in South Dakota. I taught for several community education systems in North and South Dakota, as well as in the other states in which I have lived. I attended Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND between 2000 and 2003 and obtained a Bachelors Degree in both Art and Spanish. I also taught two semesters of Art Appreciation at DSU.
I am now looking to share my artwork with an even broader audience. Throughout all my years as an artist, I have painted and sketched HUNDREDS of pieces of art. Every one of my pieces of art has a story to it, and I know it will mean something to you as well!
